A Father's Hand
Often times I can see the faith that we should have in the voices of the children in my life. As adults we tend to get jaded, but I think the children have it figured out.
The other night, I was preparing to leave the house with my nephew. As we stood on the step, he stared out into the darkness and reached his hand up to grasp mine with a shaky" Im afraid!" Then hand in hand we walked to the car together.
He knew that no matter what was out in the darkness, he would be safe as long as he held tightly to my hand.
I wonder how many times God weeps, watching us try to navigate the dark world alone, scared and unsure. Our world crashes down around us, we've lost jobs and we've lost loved ones. But his very capable hand is right there waiting for us to say" Father, Im afraid" and hold on to Him. Then, instead of facing our circumstances alone, He will get us through. Not only will He get us through, and hold our hand, but He will carry us. (Written by: Shalla Scruggs)
"lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen." Matt. 28:20b (KJV)
